I reached out to Career Instinct toward the end of my son Siddharth Vijayaraghavan''s academic year (CBSE Grade 12, 2025-26), when we were struggling to make a decision after seeing his JEE Session 1 results. When Siddharth decided to appear for B.Arch paper in addition to B.Tech, we initially treated it as just an experiment. Until then, our entire focus had been on engineering. However, the results surprised all of us. To our amazement, he scored significantly better in B.Arch than in B.Tech. This unexpected outcome prompted me to explore architecture and the career opportunities associated with it. That was when we got connected with Mariappan through my brother. Until then, I was not even aware that professional career counselling services existed for students. During the counselling sessions and assessments, including psychometric analysis and SWOT evaluation, we discovered that Siddharth was naturally a people-oriented individual. His strengths in creativity, collaboration, and creating social impact stood out clearly, indicating that he might not thrive in a passive or conventional work environment. We had got Mr. Mariappan Thiyagarajan sir's guidance for our son, who is in 10th std in CBSE. Really impressed with his knowledge, passion towards educational consulting, detailed study of my son's responses on the psycho metric exam, laser focus attention to details, dedicated time to do the detailed analysis and providing us the inferences, and more than all absolute clarity in courses and career options that are recommended and not for our son.
